In the first half of 2026, Jakarta emerged as Indonesia’s leading destination for investment, drawing a total of Rp 173.6 trillion, equivalent to $9.7 billion. This impressive figure encompasses Rp 106.5 trillion from domestic investors and Rp 67.1 trillion in foreign direct investment (FDI), underscoring robust investor confidence in the capital city.

The second quarter alone saw Jakarta amass investments totaling Rp 94.9 trillion, or $5.3 billion, which represented 18.5% of the nation’s overall investment realization. During this period, Jakarta led the country in terms of domestic investment, securing Rp 58.6 trillion, while its FDI contributions amounted to Rp 36.3 trillion, positioning it as Indonesia’s second-largest destination for foreign direct investment.

Officials have attributed Jakarta’s strong investment performance to ongoing enhancements in the ease of doing business, improvements in public services, and a favorable investment climate that continues to attract both domestic and international investors to the city.

Meanwhile, West Java secured the second spot nationally, attracting a substantial Rp 138.1 trillion in investments during the same timeframe, further highlighting the competitive investment landscape within the country.
