Indonesia maintains some of the lowest fuel prices in Southeast Asia, as reported by the nation’s state-owned energy company. The country offers the cheapest RON 92 gasoline, known locally as Pertamax, priced at approximately Rp15,950 ($0.89) per litre. This positions Indonesia significantly below regional peers such as Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand in terms of fuel costs.
For RON 95 gasoline, Indonesia continues to lead with the lowest prices, offering the fuel at about Rp19,150 ($1.07) per litre. This is a more competitive rate compared to Rp19,822 in Malaysia, Rp21,412 in Thailand, Rp25,288 in the Philippines, and a steep Rp48,795 in Singapore.
Aviation fuel prices in Indonesia are also the most economical in the region, priced at around Rp20,190 ($1.13) per litre. Vietnam follows closely with a slightly higher price of Rp20,619 per litre, while rates are substantially higher in Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
When it comes to diesel, Indonesia ranks as the third-cheapest country in Southeast Asia, offering it at approximately Rp25,200 ($1.41) per litre, trailing behind Vietnam and Malaysia.
These competitive pricing strategies highlight Indonesia’s position as a leader in maintaining relatively low fuel costs across several major categories within the region.
