Malaysia and Qatar have jointly urged for an immediate halt to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, emphasizing the necessity for quicker humanitarian aid delivery and enhanced diplomatic measures to alleviate regional tensions. This aligned stance was highlighted during a telephone conversation between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During their discussion, the leaders assessed the current state of peace negotiations, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and efforts to reduce tensions involving Iran. Prime Minister Anwar affirmed Malaysia’s commitment to work alongside Qatar and other regional partners to bolster diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace.
The conversation also touched on the importance of fortifying Malaysia-Qatar bilateral relations, with a particular focus on expanding trade and investment opportunities between the two nations.
